1Clean your hands
Open the cleansing wipe and clean your hands thoroughly, front and back. This keeps everyday surface residue out of your sample.
2Collect your sample
Fill the lidless collection cup about halfway. Halfway is plenty — you’ll only transfer a small amount to the vial.
3Open the vial
Take the mail-in vial from your kit and remove the lid. Keep the lid close by — you’ll seal the vial in the next step.
4Fill to the 8 ml line
Using the dropper, transfer your sample into the vial until it reaches the 8 ml line. Then close the vial and tighten the lid until snug.
5Label your sample
On the vial label, clearly write the date and time you collected your sample. The lab uses this to process your results accurately.
6Seal the bag
Place the labeled vial into the biohazard bag — the absorbent pad stays inside — and press the seal closed along its full length.
7Mail it within 24 hours
Slide the sealed bag into the pre-paid envelope. Drop it at any USPS location or mailbox, or hand it to your mail carrier.
